Shining a Spotlight on True Heroes: The Jess Rousey Honoring Heroes Foundation 🌟

Hey there, Ray here! πŸ‘‹ I recently had the immense pleasure of hosting Samantha Glass from the incredible Jess Rousey Honoring Heroes Foundation on my podcast. If you’re looking for a dose of inspiration and a testament to community impact, you’re going to want to read on!

Samantha’s journey to founding this amazing non-profit is truly heartwarming. Born from a desire to honor her late father, the foundation naturally merged with her long-standing commitment to public safety. The Jess Rousey Honoring Heroes Foundation is all about making a tangible difference in the lives of our brave first responders. They were even recognized as the Paulding Nonprofit of the Year by the Chamber of Commerce in 2024! πŸŽ‰

The foundation’s work has a powerful three-pronged approach:

  • Support: Providing crucial assistance to first responders in immediate crisis, whether it’s a medical emergency, critical diagnosis, or even a house fire.
  • Advocacy: Educating the community by engaging with law enforcement and first responder agencies through training and ride-alongs.
  • Appreciation: Showing gratitude through events like holiday parties, team building, and delivering meals.

But here’s where it gets even more impactful: their groundbreaking mental wellness initiative! 🧠 Starting in 2025, they’ve partnered with McKenna Farms Therapy Services to offer equine therapy to first responders. This isn’t just about feeling good; it’s about providing vital tools for stress reduction, anxiety relief, and de-stressing, especially for those dealing with high-trauma situations. Samantha shared a staggering statistic from a local law enforcement agency where 21 first responders contemplated suicide in just two weeksβ€”highlighting the critical need for these programs. This initiative truly has the potential to save lives.

Of course, none of this life-changing work happens without support! The foundation, run entirely by dedicated volunteers (including Samantha herself – nobody is compensated! ), relies on fantastic fundraisers to power their mission. Get ready for their 3rd Annual Golf Tournament on August 27th at Creekside Golf and Country Club ⛳️. And mark your calendars for “Dancing with the Heroes” on October 4th at Greystone – think “Dancing with the Stars” but with our very own police officers and firefighters as the stars! πŸ’ƒπŸš’

Hearing Samantha’s passion and the tangible difference the Jess Rousey Honoring Heroes Foundation makes was truly inspiring. It’s exactly why I love having these conversations on my podcast!
